To Advance the Gospel

“I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel” (Philippians 1:12)
What a verse 💥 As I read this the other day, I thought about the season that we are all in collectively, as well as the ones we are going through individually, and God started to help me shift my mindset from mine...to His. If you read on in this chapter of Philippians, Paul says that because of his imprisonment, many became confident in the Lord. WOW!!!
So often I can look at a difficult season and just feel defeated, but what if I asked God instead to open my spiritual eyes, and my heart to what HE IS DOING in those seasons for His kingdom!? Asking God to open my eyes to see how the Gospel being ADVANCED in this season and how can I actively be a part of it! This allows us to shift our eyes to the things of heaven and the greater work that the Lord is doing. Even in seasons of great difficulty or pain, His work is still being carried out in us, through us, and all around us!
When my gaze is set on the things of heaven and the purposes of God, my perspective can shift to one of gratitude! Gratefulness for the seasons where the Lord has allowed me to press in to His love even more, to search Him, and seek Him, and know Him in a whole new way! Gratitude for the storms I have weathered that have allowed me to GROW MY CONFIDENCE in the Lord and in His character! That allowed my roots to sink deeply into the truth and solid ground of Jesus Christ!
“What has happened to me, has really served to advance the gospel”
What an invitation! What a blessing! What a beautiful reminder that God can use ALL things for good and for His glory for those who love Him!💗
