Overwhelming Victory

“No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.” (Romans‬ ‭8:37‬)

Did you catch that? OVERWHELMING VICTORY, despite ALL these things!

I don’t know what your “these things” are, but can I tell you that this verse just flooded my heart and my life with a fresh hope & reminder of the powerful God we serve!? Especially in seasons like the one we are experiencing right now. Discouragement and defeat can set in quickly if we are not on guard against them and against the enemy of our souls!

I’m doing a Bible study on the Armor of God right now by Priscilla Shirer, and I was reading about Elijah in 2 Kings 15-17; when the troop coming against them greatly outnumbered their physical troops, but Elijah asked the Lord to open the eyes of the young man to see the massive and powerful army of the Lord that was surrounding their enemy!

When we are in seasons of struggle, of battle, of discouragement, of defeat... remember this: “...there are more on our side than on theirs!”(2 Kings‬ ‭6:16‬) and we don’t just have some scrappy little chicken by our side, we have the Lord Almighty Jesus Christ! Living WITHIN US and he has ALREADY given us and EQUIPPED us with everything we need to be OVERWHELMINGLY VICTORIOUS through Him!! In Him, we are more than conquerors!

Lord, open our eyes to see Your strength & victory living inside us, help us to realize the weapons and armor at our disposal because of your Son, and to USE and apply them in our lives Lord, that we may walk in the overwhelming victory which is ours in Christ, over ALL these things! In Jesus’ name, Amen
