I'm At War

Tiny miracles are becoming my favorite little treasures from God.

Easter Sunday I woke up in a funky mood. It wasn’t really how I wanted to feel on Easter. I was blah, tired, going through the motions of the morning "Maybe the sermon will stir me", I thought, but even the inspiring and wonderful words of truth and Resurrection life from my pastor didn’t ignite my dimly burning light.

After a morning of brunch and family fun, I went home, still feeling the burning emptiness in my heart. Why God? Why on Easter do I have to feel this way? .

I took a nap for most of the afternoon, rolled out of bed and onto my floor and cried. (This is the part where God comes in)

I had been wanting this movie for months never having seen it before, I just knew it was one that I would like. As I sat like a sad potato on my floor something suddenly stirred me to go to Walmart right then and there to buy it. I checked online to see if the store had it. ONE COPY LEFT. I rolled my eyes. Good luck finding that in the Walmart movie section (can I get an Amen?😂👏🏼) but I got dressed anyways and went.

In the car on the way there a sermon came on talking about the true power and meaning in Christ resurrection; that how no matter how far we may have wandered from God, no matter what we may be feeling, or facing; the beauty and glory of Christ’s death and resurrection is that by it, our sins are forgiven and we win, because He won! 🙌🏼

We win over death. Over depression. Over fear. Over hate. Over sin. Over the past. Over Satan. WE WIN THROUGH CHRIST!

"No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, not things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8: 37-39)

Because Christ conquered the grave, we get to LIVE and not just forever in Heaven; but right here! right now!! "For the devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy but Christ comes that we may have LIFE and have it abundantly" 💛

Okay, back to the DVD 😂

I searched high and low for this thing y’all, ya girl was on a mission!! After about half-an-hour of ransacking the DVD aisles I was about to give up and walk away defeated. .

But on my way out I saw an bunch of Easter-related movies (i.e. The Passion, Ten Commandments) and I thought, why not? So I started filing through them and ended up knocking the entire row of DVDs off of the shelf. They went all over the floor in every direction (story of my life lol) I picked them all up and as I stood up, there it was, right in front of my face. The ONE copy they had left. Mixed right in with Veggie Tales (naturally) so why do I tell you all this?

Because God’s hand was at work in this moment. I got home and watched this movie and something just clicked. God spoke to me through this film, my heart, my mind, my spirit was changed. New life in Christ washed over me, stronger than ever. This was Easter 💗

Sometimes God uses the tiniest of miracles sometimes to reveal His biggest blessings to us. Isn't He good? <3

Y'all this movie made me so much more aware of the importance and POWER of prayer, surrender, and trusting in God. Highly recommend watching if you haven't already. There is true freedom in handing everything over to Him. Prayer can truly change your whole mind-set, meditating on God's truth, His word, and His goodness transforms your thinking, and brings life and light!! I still have so much room to grow in this department, but I am so thankful for a patient and merciful God who is with me every step of the way.
