hemmed
awe: “an emotion variously combining dread, respect, and wonder that is inspired by authority or by the sacred or sublime”
Yesterday I stood in awe of God. I felt the vastness of Him everywhere we went. God showed me a lot of things yesterday, but mainly, that I can trust Him. He reminded me that there is no where I can go that I am ever out of His reach 💛
“You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me.”(Psalm 139:5)
I saw beauty beyond belief, things that would break your heart, culture that is very different than mine. I met smiling faces and tiny toes, all of whom are made in God’s image.
I felt the complete loss of being in “control” for most of the day, which I believe God has to remind me of often, since I tend to cling to it so tightly. But in those moments, God reminded me constantly that He is always with me and that I do not have to be afraid.
“And they went and woke him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing.” And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.” (Matthew 8:25-26)
