Apostleship

I was reading in Romans last night and the Lord brought something new to my attention.

Romans 1:4-6 says this:

“...Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations, including you who are called to belong to Jesus Christ,”

It says that through Christ, not only do we receive grace, but we also receive APOSTLESHIP, which then brings about the OBEDIENCE of our FAITH, for the sake of His name, to every nation. WOAH!

So I decided to look up the word “Apostle” and here’s what I found...

Apostle: One sent on a mission; such as to preach the Gospel; Ambassador; Messenger of God

It also said that an apostle is “to set in order, equip, prepare for a journey, send”

THIS BLEW MY MIND Y’ALL 👏🏼💥

Not only does God freely give us grace through Jesus Christ, but through him we also RECEIVE apostleship.

HE GIVES IT TO US!!!

He prepares, equips, and sends us as His messengers, His ambassadors, but He doesn’t stop there!

He tells us that the outcome of this gift, is to bring about OBEDIENCE IN OUR FAITH FOR HIS NAMES SAKE!!! WHAT!!! Ahhh!!!!

Jesus literally gives us all that we need to be obedient in our faith so that His name would be glorified in and through us to every end of the earth!! How great is our God?! 🙌🏼🌎

So whatever that thing is that God has called you to do, have faith in knowing that HE GIVES YOU THE ABILITY TO DO IT!!! And He is WITH YOU every step of the way.
